Yalçın was having respiratory problems due to the prominent curvature of his nose. After we decided on the final shape of his nose in our clinic, we performed the surgery. Yalçın, who came for the control in the first month of his surgery, happily told us about his whole process.
The nose is an important multifunctional organ located in the middle of our face. Our nose, which is the entrance gate of the respiratory tract, is responsible for carrying the air in sufficient quantity and free from environmental pollution to the lungs. In addition, the sense of smell originates from the nose.
In addition to all these, it is one of the organs that mostly underwent surgical intervention for the beautification of the shape.
For these reasons, rhinoplasty remains the most popular plastic surgery.
With rhinoplasty, visual problems in the nose are corrected, as well as internal congestion that causes respiratory difficulties. Sometimes, standard breathing surgery is not sufficient for a patient coming with only nasal obstruction and rhinoplasty may be required.
Remember, it is not enough to have a beautiful nose, it must also breathe.
Before rhinoplasty, it is necessary to understand very well the patient’s expectations from the surgery. I think the key to success is to plan the new nose, that is compatible with the facial features and that will make the individual happy, down to the smallest detail. During this planning, our duty as surgeons is to guide our patients in line with our previous experiences and help them choose the right nose.
The right surgeon is the key to successful rhinoplasty…
Basically, rhinoplasty is divided into two: primary and revision. In primary rhinoplasty, the patient has not had a previous nose surgery. Results are more predictable and success rates are higher. In the revision group, the anatomy of the nose due to previous procedures became complicated. Surgery is more difficult and the recovery period is slightly longer.
When an experienced surgeon in revision rhinoplasty and the appropriate technique come together, the result will be satisfactory.
We discharge our patient the next day after rhinoplasty. We remove the supports outside the nose and the sutures, if any, in the first week. Although some swelling and a feeling of pressure are expected in this process, almost none of our patients describe pain. In the first week, we allow daily activities and air travel. It is necessary to be patient for 1.5 months for sports, sun and glasses.
When the first week after rhinoplasty is over, it is not possible to understand that the patient is operated. However, it is necessary to wait 3 to 6 months for the swelling to go down and for full recovery.
Rhinoplasty should be applied after puberty. The nose should be expected to complete its physical development and the patient to reach a certain spiritual maturity. If there is a major disorder inside and outside the nose, it is recommended to be done at the earliest 15-16 years for girls and 17-18 years for boys.
With digital photography and computer programming methods, you can see your expected new nose before the operation.
We have interpreter support for all our patients who will come to our country from abroad.
You can easily return to your work within ten days after the operation. The edema due to the operation begins to disappear around the second week, the swellings on the outside regress more slowly.
